About Chasmosaurus
A ceratopsian with a huge rectangular frill pierced by two large openings that lightened the skull. The frill likely worked for display rather than defense. Skin impressions from one specimen show rows of small scales studded with larger bosses. Its modest horns contrast with its giant frill.
