About Apatosaurus
Formerly confused with Brontosaurus (which is now recognized as a separate genus). One of the largest land animals ever, with a whip-like tail that may have broken the sound barrier. Its neck had 15 vertebrae and was held mostly horizontal, not vertically. Juveniles could walk on hind legs.
