Ichthyosaurus

About Ichthyosaurus

A marine reptile shaped remarkably like a modern dolphin — a classic example of convergent evolution. Gave birth to live young (fossils show babies inside the birth canal). Had enormous eyes for seeing in deep, dark water. Could swim at speeds up to 35 km/h. Not a dinosaur but a contemporary.
