About Elasmosaurus
A plesiosaur with an impossibly long neck — 72 vertebrae, the most of any known animal. The neck alone was 7 meters long. Had four paddle-like flippers for swimming. Swallowed stones for ballast. First discovered by Cope, who initially put the head on the wrong end (a famous scientific blunder).
