About Abelisaurus

Known mainly from a single well preserved skull found in 1985. Ornamental ridges above the eyes may have served for display. Head of a southern predator family that filled the ecological role tyrannosaurs held in the north. Its relatives carried horns, but Abelisaurus had a smoother, deeper skull.
